2) Alluding more to Rick's backstory and purpose without outright revealing it, as I want to keep that a secret for now.
Also decided on a name for this one. The first idea for a name was "Curse of Quarrytown" in accordance with my love of pulpy weird tales stuff. Then, it was gonna be "Epitaph" after the Judas Priest song, as its lyrics and perfect segue into "Island of Domination" fit the themes of the tale. Eventually, I settled on calling it "Minotaurus" to give it more unity with the previous "Caduceus".
The plan is to make one last one-shot after this if possible. A trilogy of one-off stories that showcases the world and adventures of Barrel Shell before committing to making anything else with it. Caduceus exhibited the aquatic angle with Barrel using the turtlejet boots. This one has him using a different set of rollerboots for travel over the dusty ground and old railways of an abandoned mine. The last one planned takes place in a snowy environment and will have him using ski gear and bobsled-type shoes to hunt an abominable snowman. Each story kinda revolves around Barrel's "purpose" as a machine, alluding both to myth and classic robot stuff like Tetsujin and Mazinger Z. I'm aware it's very self-indulgent lol. Some might say it's kinda dumb sharing all this on a blog like five people at most will read, but I dunno. It's kinda cozy, tbh.
